The Chicago Cubs finally get a day off for the first time since April 22nd. The stretch of 16 straight days with a game and a rash of injuries to star players hasn’t slowed down the team. However, it has taken its toll on the production of Ian Happ and Dansby Swanson. The two players have both struggled since Cody Bellinger and Seiya Suzuki went on the IL.
Seiya Suzuki could be back as early as Friday. He looked great Wednesday playing with the I-Cubs. He is scheduled to play again Thursday on a rehab assignment. Kyle Hendericks pitched for Iowa Tuesday night and is scheduled to pitch again Sunday in Triple-A.
