He played as a “two-way player” for the Nippon Ham Fighters and transferred to the Los Angeles Angels of MLB in 2017. Meanwhile, Seiya Suzuki is from Tokyo and emerged as a powerful hitter for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp before transferring to the Chicago Cubs in 2022. Both were born in 1994 and have been attracting attention among Japanese baseball fans since before they became professionals.
