Shohei Ohtani’s Former Interpreter Faces Sentencing for Stealing $17 Million

Ippei Mizuhara, former interpreter for MLB star Shohei Ohtani, arrived at federal court in Santa Ana for sentencing after pleading guilty to embezzling nearly $17 million from Ohtani’s bank account to cover gambling debts. Mizuhara, who also acted as Ohtani’s de facto manager, faces federal charges, including felony bank fraud and false tax returns.
