During a recent Dodgers fanfest, manager Dave Roberts announced that Japanese two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani will not take the mound in the upcoming 6th World Baseball Classic (WBC). Roberts explicitly stated that Ohtani will not pitch in the tournament, noting that it was Ohtani’s own decision. Consequently, Ohtani will participate in this edition of the WBC exclusively as a designated hitter.
