Ohtani felt good following Friday’s bullpen session, but Roberts said his overall body is not completely healthy. The concern is not limited to his knee.
“I don’t think he’s 100%.”
If Ohtani pitches Sunday, Roberts confirmed that he will work only one inning. The Dodgers are discussing whether that inning would provide enough value for his buildup to justify using him before his body feels completely ready.

Roberts was also candid when asked whether Ohtani could become fully healthy before the regular season ends.
“To be quite frank, I just don’t see everything getting to 100% by the end of the season.”
He added that many pitchers compete effectively without feeling completely healthy. The Dodgers must now determine what makes the most sense for Ohtani and the team.
