🚨 **CUBS FANS, THE MISSION IS SIMPLE: BRING SEIYA SUZUKI BACK!** 🚨
Welcome back to **Chicago Cubs Central!** I’m Mike Jones, and today we’re making the case for why the Chicago Cubs MUST prioritize re-signing Seiya Suzuki rather than letting one of their most productive hitters walk away.
Suzuki has established himself as a legitimate middle-of-the-order threat, delivering power, run production, and on-base ability. In 2026, he hit **26 home runs, drove in 86 RBIs, posted a .270 batting average, and recorded an .841 OPS.** He’s also coming off a 32-home-run, 103-RBI campaign in 2025!
🔥 **So why would the Cubs risk losing that kind of production?**
In this episode, Mike breaks down Suzuki’s numbers, examines the 2026–27 MLB free-agent market, and explains why replacing his bat could be much harder than some Cubs fans realize.
⚾ **IN THIS EPISODE:**
🔵 **WHY THE CUBS MUST RE-SIGN SEIYA SUZUKI** — Four straight seasons with at least 20 home runs and an OPS above .800. Is Suzuki one of the most important bats the Cubs need to keep?
💣 **THE NUMBERS DON’T LIE** — We examine Suzuki’s home runs, RBIs, on-base percentage, OPS, and consistent offensive production.
📊 **WHO CAN REPLACE SUZUKI?** — We compare potential free-agent alternatives, including Randy Arozarena, George Springer, Taylor Ward, and other available bats. Can the Cubs find comparable production without overpaying?
💰 **A WEAK OFFENSIVE FREE-AGENT CLASS?** — With impact bats at a premium, could Suzuki become one of the most valuable offensive players available this offseason?
🧢 **JED HOYER HAS A BIG DECISION TO MAKE** — Should the Cubs prioritize keeping Suzuki, or would it make more sense to invest that money elsewhere?
⚠️ **THE CONTRACT DEBATE** — Suzuki is entering his age-33 season. How many years should Chicago offer, and what is a reasonable price to keep his bat in the lineup?
🏆 **BUILD AROUND YOUR STRENGTHS** — Why retaining Suzuki and adding more talent should go hand in hand if the Cubs want to compete for a championship.
The bottom line? The Cubs cannot afford to lose a proven middle-of-the-order hitter without a legitimate plan to replace his production. Suzuki has demonstrated what he can do in Chicago. Now it’s up to the front office to decide whether keeping him is part of its championship plan.
👇 **CUBS FANS, WE WANT YOUR OPINION!**
– Would you re-sign Seiya Suzuki?
– Would you offer him a three- or four-year deal?
– Should the Cubs go longer if the annual salary makes sense?
– If Suzuki walks, which free agent should Chicago target instead?
